Pretty Maids

I seldom venture out to take a fashion shot nowadays, but today I went to Paris 1900 to get this shot. It's one of the sims I used to visit before things got busy for me. It's builts are not mesh, but it has that nostalgic heritage kind of feeling like you're a tourist whenever I visit and it's not colourful.

I love this dress! I've been wearing it for a few days now. I know it sounds vain because I'm the tailor, but that cheerful orange coloured flowers just makes me smile. I would have blogged it earlier, but I wanted to pose Christine in this dress and I found out that the alpha layer doesn't cover some parts of her boobs and I thought I'd wait till I make another alpha layer for the size L dress. After I've made it, I discovered that the new alpha layer can also be worn by size XXS which Moon is wearing above.

Bikini Girls

Ever since I became a virtual tailor, I've been curious how other shapes, other than the smaller sizes that my avatars wear, would look like. So, when I did the bikinis, I took the opportunity to make different shapes and sizes.

Bikini sizes form left to right XXS, XS, S, M, L

Sizes M and L were the most difficult for me to do but in the end, I do like their figures the best because they look so healthy. I also did not keep the same face shapes, because then it would be boring. I notice when it comes to bikinis, sometimes, I had to fill out the butt and the hip saddle, and also I had to join the boobs or slide the gravity up and down to fill out the top and in the process, I had to shorten the torso. It was not an easy experiment. To me, that only means that when you want to wear a bikini, you might have to have a special bikini shape in your folder.

I wonder if fitted mesh will make having a bikini shape unnecessary.

I should have kept track of the skins I used, but I was too distracted by the shape slider so if my memory serves me, for the first picture, I think from left to right, Belleza, Wow, Modish, Skinnery, YS&YS. For the second picture, from left to right, Izzie's, Belleza, Modish, YS&YS, Glam Affair. I apologize if I made any mistakes.

Silly Love Song

Song was in that shade of tan that I like and she had the cutest pouty lips. I was bored. She was irresistable.

She made me play with the shape slider. I was feeling annoyed at the world and I was thinking I don't care and I don't give a damn and I think it kind of reflected in this shape.

And that is how Julia was born.

I used Windlight Nam's Optimal Skin2 for these pictures. Shadows would just be in the way of showing how lovely the skin is. I think Song looks like a painting. I like that it looks like a painting. Sometimes, I want to remember that this is a virtual world where avatars are pixels. I don't want them to look too much like a real life human. That can be disturbing.

On the other hand, this will not be Moon's go to skin because Song looks too young for me. I might put it on the marketplace. I'm not sure yet.

I am on a mission to shop for Carter. I've been itching to play with the shape sliders again and putting shapes on the marketplace again but Moon's inventory is already too heavy to add another 'build' category in it and I've been thinking of passing the 'job' to Carter.
It makes me giggle because men always say that women have a million alts and although I don't deny it because women are natural hoarders, I see no wrong in having multiple alts as long as it is not used negatively.
I use my alt when I want to be alone and I don't add friends on my alt.

Somehow, with Carter, I tend to have her wear very casual laidback outfits. The kind of outfits my elder daughter would wear. It will be a challenge to make mature shapes with her. Well, it is still a plan. Right now I am shopping for affordable skins. And clothes. And hair. And shoes.... the list is endless.

Moon's Digits 2013 and through the years

I'm doing another Strawberry Singh's meme. Pictures are more interesting for me than words and that is one very shallow confession, I know!

I haven't changed Moon's digit much since Nov 2012 except made her thicker because I wanted her to look chubbier and mesh doesn't allow me to add to the body fat because of fitting technicalities.

It comes in 2 parts. The picture was the 2nd part and it was easier.

Proportions Challenge Questions:

1. Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above? – No. I usually move the sliders to whatever pleases my eyes.
2. What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar mesh? – The feet. The graphic looks like it's been slapped on and forgotten.
3. Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all? – No. I find it interesting to see avatars in all shapes and sizes.
4. Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average? - No. Everybody is free to create their avatar anyway they want to. They are the ones who has to look at their avatars 24/7.

I'm glad I still kept Moon's old shapes although there was a time I had planned to purged them all.

I am surprised she had gone through major yoyo height changes every year. I am also surprised that I had reverted Moon's shape to almost her original shape. I had no idea until I did this meme. I do stick to my avatar having a figure 8 though. Seems like in my head, this is how my ideal woman should look like.
Looking at this trend, I don't know if next year Moon is going to be tall again.

Today's look- fun skating

I was updating Kiki's shape to be mesh friendly and she looked so cute, I had to dress her up and take her ice skating. Kiki's not another alt, but the shape I used to put on marketplace but I took all my shapes off when I decided to embrace mesh clothings. Kiki is a size Xs or Small depending on what you're wearing.
Moon will probably be wearing this shape for a few days.
The cardigan-jacket is a group gift from [Foppish]. Joining is still free.
The mesh jeans is from Gizza.
Hair and beanie is from Kari. It's an old item. I don't think this hair is there anymore. I tried to get a different coloured hair last year, but it was no longer for sale.
The shirt is from Deetalez.
The ice-skates are from Bax. The roller skates from Pixelmode.

I bought the KH ice skate ao and I'm really satisfied with it. I already have their mermaid AO3 which is really awesome.

This reminds me. Moon hasn't been a mermaid in a while.

Moon is now a size S or M depending on the style. I'm quite please with the outcome.

My new look

Something I picked up at the Boho Culture. In real life I dress like a hippie but in SL, I don't feel like dressing my avatar as one. Except for the flamboyant print, this gown is almost formal.
As expected, most of the clothes at the event are mesh. This gown is from On a Lark. It comes with the accessories. Isn't that great? No need to search my jewellery folder and rack my brain trying to remember the names and images of my baubles. Why do women need so much stuffs? Sometimes I am tempted to just thrash everything and just keep my favorites.

I also changed my avatar's skin this week. I'm gonna miss the cute face of Fiep, but I wanted a face that is mature-looking but still sweet-looking too and I've fallen in love with the [PXL] Faith skin. I've also scaled down my avatar. She no longer towers over everybody else but she's still tall and voluptuous and she's a size Mmesh but sometimes she has to wear a size Lmesh. The fickleness of mesh-wear:/

I also completed my latest house but I'm not satisfied with the exterior so I don't think I'll be putting it up on Marketplace until I redo/renovate the house again.... like adding a door or a wall or retexture that sort of stuffs. But this is how the interior would look like:

Dresses short and sassy

.evolve is having a sale and I've been eyeing this orangey minidress for a while now but because it's mesh, I've resisted until now. It was horrible wearing in L size so I took out my slimmer size 5 avatar to fit in.
I suddenly realised while I was doing the poses that dramatic poses is not a friend to some mesh dresses. So many restrictions is frustrating.

Just give me mesh furnitures.

Anyway, Carter is looking hot in this peplum minidress from Zenith(groupgift) but then, being skinny she can wear a sack and still look good! Haha, I remember when my aunts used to say that of me..... now I say that to my daughters. Being wrinkled and thin is just no good. Makes the person look sick.

I saw this wonderful free mesh dress from {Novo Colsa} on the feed and went to get it. Moon looked ok wearing it in size L but better in size S. I changed the face and body shape to fit in with Tuli's Suri skin.

This is the one-shoulder group gift.

I almost lost my kitty

Last night my daughter left the door ajar when she went out and if it weren't for my scardy cat Nims, I'd never have known it. Nims circled around me with her furs all standing out so I knew something was wrong. The braver kitty Phebes went out exploring and got ganked up by 2 tomcats who were a bit confused coz she wasn't in heat and was chasing her around. I was freaking out and crying but she eventually ran back into the house.
Those 2 kitties are like my toddlers...except I don't have to change their diapers and hover over them too much. I love them so much, I can understand why some people leave all their money to their pets.
That was the highlight of my real life hahaha.
In sl, I did the fantasy faire hunt and got all the shards and the hunt gifts but when it came to the final part, I kept on clicking the books and got spammed. Well, it looked like spam coz it filled up my open chat. I have no clue what to do next so I went home to open the hunt gifts and forgot to take pics.

I still can't get over how this Christina skin from Izzie makes my avatar look so much like my daughter. Except she doesn't like to dress-up or wear make-up.

I made some facial changes to my male avie-prop. I also revert Moon back to her curvy self. I just feel anorexia when I see her in the medium-mesh-approved shape.

I got that hot outfit at the men's fashion fair. E-clipse. Shoes included.

Size M

Resistant is futile. My avie had a full makeover. Shape, face, skin, major boob reduction(cries) and all that jazz. I am now a very skinny and tall size medium as told by this very sexy mesh dress. I wanted to make it to size small but I looked too emaciated. Anyway I look very very not me so that's good I think.

Line dancing at the Quasar Country Saloon. I dunno what it is but I really love listening to country music. Some of the lyrics are so hilarious and some are just about reality.

Some day

I thought I was all cried out but some day just brings me down again. A word, a memory can just trigger it off. It doesn't help when everyone else is getting the cold and I'm just waiting for my turn.
Anyway, I'm getting obsessed with the shape sliders. The hardest part is the nose. On some skins, no amount of tweaking can get rid of the shadows or the weird skin sticking out and that is so frustrating.

Tommy is so handsome, but look at his nose:( I'll get back to him when my eyes uncross themselves.

Playing dress-up is more fun.

Party Girls

Some poses I bought at the Apple Spice Store. They're very affordable that it makes me and Carter wanna party!  I was playing with the sliders again. Small shapes makes taking pictures easy.

Thanks to pixlr or I'd never be able to do that graphics.

I've always made my avie noses small and short coz that's how it is in rl but when I was playing with the sliders, I came up with this face. I think I'm gonna walk around in this shape for a while.
